I have lived abroad since 1981 but have all along kept extremely close and continuous ties with my native country of Denmark. This album is a tribute to my motherland and a celebration of all the people who have played roles of major importance in my life and who are somehow all connected to Denmark, including family, mentors, colleagues, friends and lovers. All music that I do (original compositions in particular) are always what I call snapshots of moods and emotions connected directly with very specific events, experiences or people, which all become very vivid and colorful memories as soon as I play the associated particular piece of music.  Recording this album was an emotional journey for me, a retrospective reflection combined with a look forward. The album was recorded in my native Copenhagen, Denmark, with an all-Danish trio, featuring the great legendary drummer genius Alex Riel and our newly found wonderful bassist from Skanderborg, Morten Ramsbøl. We recorded it at what used to be my home away from home during my heyday as a record producer, Focus Recording Studio, right outside of Copenhagen.  And of course we used one of my oldest friends in the business, the great engineer Hans Nielsen whom I have known since 1986 when he engineered my debut album.  I hereby invite you on this musical journey with me that I call « Return To Denmark » and I sincerely hope that you will enjoy the journey as much as I did during the making of this album.
